Orphaned Pets Ring New York Stock Exchange’s Closing Bell

Celebrating Orphaned Pets on Wall Street

On December 20, 2012, Helen Woodward Animal Center and Iams rang the closing bell in honor of Iams Home 4 the Holidays, one of the world’s largest pet adoption drives. Over 3,500 pet rescues and pet adoption centers participated this year! We were delighted and honored that the TODAY Show’s Jill Rappaport joined us on the platform to show her support of pet adoption.

“We founded Iams Home 4 the Holidays to raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption,” said Mike Arms, founder of the adoption drive and president of Helen Woodward Animal Center. “Coming to the New York Stock Exchange to ring the bell is an honor and another great way to remind people who are considering a new 4-legged family member about some of the amazing pets waiting for their second chance at life.”

Mike Arms talks about orphaned pet adoption

In 2012, we have collectively saved over 1.2 million orphaned pets! Now that’s saying something!

Can pets better the economy? With these smiles, we think so!
