2011 Iams Home 4 the Holidays’ First Adoption!

Iams Home 4 the Holidays First Adoption

Iams Home 4 the HolidaysFamilies are uniting with new furry family members all over the world during this holiday season, thanks to the hard work of the Iams Home 4 the Holidays partnered animal welfare organizations! Iams Home 4 the Holidays began on Saturday, Oct 1, and we challenged our fellow organizations to be the first to send in their first adoption of the holiday adoption campaign.

Out of over 3,500 animal welfare organizations, our very first adoption came from the Escambia Animal Services, located in Escambia, Florida.

Meet the new family, Phyllis and Sam! Congratulations!

First Adoption of 2011 Iams Home 4 the Holidays – Phyllis and Sam!

“[We] would like to take a moment and let you know of the story of a puppy and our Kennel Supervisor here at the Escambia County Animal Services.

Our puppy in this story is named Sam. [Sam] is a 9 month old Silky Terrier. His previous [owner] couldn’t take him where she was moving and left Sam here with us. Our Kennel Supervisor, Phyllis, saw Sam and it was love at first sight.  Phyllis played with Sam and had been teaching him tricks since his arrival on September 29.

He was up for adoption today [October 1] and prior to us opening, he was out playing in our office area.  When Phyllis [walked] by he followed her, “loved” on her, and basically claimed her as his momma.

His loving spirit won her over because he was the very first adoption for today. Phyllis [became] the proud new mommy to Sam.

Sam is hanging out with her in her office right now and is just loving life and his new lease on it!”
