If you follow our Surf Dog Twitter feed, you might know that we are busy-busy-busy preparing for this year’s Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon. Tomorrow is our first of three Surf Dog clinics, private lessons taught by San Diego Surfing Academy and our very own dog trainer, Rob, of San Diego Pet Training.
While many of us humans are working hard for the Surf-A-Thon, we can’t forget our four-legged canine surfing stars. Just this week we heard that a Great Dane named Murphy, and weighing 140 pounds, will be at this week’s clinic! Holy smokes, that’s one enormous dog!
Does anyone remember that one line from “Jaws,” where the chief of police, Brody, says, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat…” For some reason, that came to our minds, too. Murphy, you are gonna need a bigger board, friend! You are handsome, though. Awww, lookit that face…
If you want to keep up to date with the clinic this Saturday, we will be live tweeting from the surf clinic tomorrow morning from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Also, you are not too late to sign up your rad canine for another clinic. We have two more clinics after this Saturday on August 14th and August 21st. Click here for more info on how to get involved.
Remember: Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon is on September 12th, at Del Mar’s Dog Beach.
Thanks and mahalo for reading! We’ll see you in the waves!
