We’ve started a fun thing on our Twitter page (@HWAC) called Follow A Litter on Twitter. We plan on updating all of our twitter followers daily on the progress of one of our newest litters: The Flower Puppies!

Gladiola, Goldenrod, Geranium, and Gardenia all came to Helen Woodward Animal Center with their mother, Georgia, from a rescue group in Los Angeles. That are not quite 5 weeks old yet. Start following HWAC on Twitter to keep up with their progress.

Off To Puerto Rico

Tomorrow, four HWAC staff members, including President Mike Arms, will be traveling to Puerto Rico. Mike will be speaking at a national conference to animal welfare personnel from around Puerto Rico. Many people might not realize that Puerto Rico has a 97% kill rate. The animal welfare personnel have a strong desire to change their ways and to stop the killing at that is way Helen Woodward Animal Center staff members are making the trip!

They will also be touring the Canita Sanctuary which was established by two American Army Veterans. The sanctuary is need of desperate help. They have more than 600 animals but no money or food for them. Each day they find newly abandoned animals at their door. The small number of people working there are committed into transforming the sanctuary and the Center will be there to help.

Home 4 the Holidays Update

In just the first 11 days of this years Home 4 the Holidays, a total of 72,791 orphaned animals have found their forever homes!

Speaking of animals looking for their forever homes, we here at Helen Woodward Animal Center have a very special dog named Holly who is looking to find her forever home!

Holly is an active 3 1/2 year old. She loves to go for long walks and would love to become your jogging partner. She is loveable and enjoys belly rubs, playing fetch, and working for treats.

Do you have room in your heart and home for Holly this holiday season as well as all the holidays to come?
