Vote for your favorite Most Heartwarming Story from Iams Home 4 the Holidays

Iams Home 4 the Holidays

Update: Thank you all so much for voting! Voting is now closed. You can see the winner here.

Hello animal lovers! Today is the day you can begin voting for your favorite story from 2011 Iams Home 4 the Holidays!

Since the inception of Iams Home 4 the Holidays in 1999, Helen Woodward Animal Center has enjoyed the privilege of giving out a special award for the most heartwarming animal adoption story during the adoption campaign. Receiving and reading these amazing success stories is always rewarding for us. They encapsulate why the campaign is worth all the hard work.

This year, we are giving our friends, families, and fans a glimpse behind the walls of our animal welfare partners to witness the change they are making every single day. We are relying on you, dear friends, to help us make this decision:

Which organization should win this year’s prize for most heartwarming success story?

Each story illustrates each animal’s unique journey; journeys that begin in abandonment, betrayal, or serious medical issues, and end in fulfillment, safety and most importantly, a loving home. The winning organization will be awarded $500!

Remember to read each story. You will get your chance to cast your vote at the end of the last story. (Votes in the comment section below will not be counted.)

Thank you for caring about animals!

Take me to the stories!

  1. Thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers who took a chance on sweet Angel and worked so hard to get her healthy and into a forever home! She is absolutely beautiful!

  2. How very lucky (Buddy) Drifter is to have found such a wonderful family. Bless that family for taking care of this handsome little guy. It is so nice to read a story with a happy ending.

  3. Buddy (Drifter’s) luck started when he was rescued by the wonderful people of Chow Rescue of Central NY. I also have addopted from this organization and I can tell everyone that all of the members of Chow Rescue of Central NY do all they can to find homes for all the Chows they possibly can. CoCo my little rescue is on her way to become a therapy dog, giving back all the love she recieved from this rescue group.

    • That is a wonderful thing you are doing for both Coco and all those people whose faces she will put a smile on. It helps promote how wonderful chow chow are. I have had them in my life for over 30 years and currently looking to add another one.

  4. I am a member of Wayward Paws and was so happy our Ethan was one of the stories chosen to be considered for the $500.00. However ,after reading all the other eighteen stories , I realize there were other animal stories which also just as deserving and several ,even more so. Its so rewarding to see how many of us are out there, helping all these wonderful animals! Thank you for for all hard and caring work!

  5. Poor Molly, what a trooper to worry about those pups when she was barely alive herself. Thanks DFWMGRR for all you did for Molly. Now she can pay her thanks by helping cancer patients.

  6. Thank you so much for what you do, and did for Molly. She now lives in Asheville, NC, and we heard her story on the news! We’re voting for her now!

  7. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you did for Molly and her puppies. I have Satchel, one of her puppies, and he is the most wonderful dog, he looks exactly like her and is the sweetest creature on earth. Thank you so much!

  8. Little buddy has improved and fought to live. It is it is his good fortune to have a fur..ever home!!
    Besides he is just adorable!!

  9. Poor spike. How can people be so mean and just abandon animals like that. I am so happy this little guy is enjoying the happy life he deserves.

  10. Buddy was a super cool dog with super caring (human) parents. Dogs are so cool–they give their love uncondionally.I love dogs and cats and nice people. When you really think about it–it’s not so hard to be nice. Remember this my Momma used to say— There are people out there that have it better than you—-but there are a whole lot more that are worse off. Pray them and pray for animals to find a good home. 11. This is a story much like my rescue in November 2012. God bless rescue volunteers, they get a tail in addition to wings in Heaven!

  12. I will never be able to comprehend the cruelty of men toward animals, but grateful to the loving and kind folks at FW Metro Golden Retriever Rescue and so many others that put it all on the line to help give “second chances” to all the deserving “cast aways” throughout the cities. Bravo!! FWMGRR and Molly!!
